CEOs Use Secret Business Weapon for Rapid Growth
What 221 Companies on the Inc. 5000 List Have In Common
Vistage CEO member Michael Brown of Greenline Industries in Larkspur, CA ranked the highest at number seven. "Having started our company with just myself and my partner, we were very flattered to be named to the list and to be recognized in our industry as having an impact on the environment,"said Brown. "Having been a Vistage member for a year, my only regret is not having found Vistage sooner. I've have already brought several major problems to my group for discussion and having this resource outside of our business is extremely valuable. It's like a giant board of directors that are competent and available to help work through issues and offer proven advice."
Vistage member Beverly Joyce of Trace Communications in Indianapolis, ranked 53rd on the list. "Making the Inc. 5000 list is a thrilling accomplishment for me personally and for the Trace Communications team,"said Joyce. "Vistage offers a wealth of knowledge to corporate leaders through speakers, other members and individual support from Chairs. I am very fortunate to have had a fantastic group to lean on and gain knowledge from."
Vistage brings CEOs together to meet monthly with CEOs of non-competing businesses in confidential sessions, led by Chairs, group facilitators who hold members accountable to act on the advice they receive from other members. Additionally, Vistage Chairs coach members in one-on-one sessions each month.
"Our members prove that sharing knowledge with each other helps companies grow quickly,"said Rafael Pastor, chairman of the board and CEO of Vistage International. "These CEOs are helping each other become better leaders, who make better decisions and produce better results."
Inc. Magazine ranks privately held companies according to the percentage growth of their revenue from 2004 through 2007. Public companies are not included in the Inc. 5000 List.
