(Las Vegas, Nev.), July 21, 2006 – Vistage International, the world’s leading chief executive organization, has named Las Vegas-based business leader Clyde Horner the recipient of the 2005 Vistage Chair of the Year Award. The award honors his record of exceptional service to the Vistage community. Vistage Chairs lead small groups of chief executives who meet monthly to exchange ideas and help one another solve business problems. Chairs also coach each member individually. Horner currently meets with more than 40 Las Vegas area CEOs in various industries.
The award was presented to Horner by Greg Wells, Chief of Regional Operations, and Richard Carr, Vice Chairman of the Board, who visited the July 10 meeting of his Vistage Chair Group to celebrate and recognize Clyde's accomplishments in front of his colleagues. He will be formally recognized as 2005 Chair of the Year at the upcoming Vistage Regional Conference in Irvine, Calif., on July 27-28.
Horner’s performance in his first year as a Vistage Chair earned him a Rookie of the Year Award, and he’s been honored three times since with a Chair Excellence Award.
"Clyde is the model of a great Vistage Chair—an outstanding mentor, facilitator and confidante to his members," says Wells. "He has a profound dedication to our mission and a deep commitment to our shared values of caring, challenge, trust and growth."
