As Vistage continues to expand, the need for high-quality Chairs expands with it. Our Chairs are dynamic and "intrapreneurial" individuals who may have been CEOs, other high-ranking executives or consultants in successful organizations. Candidates must have experience in managing profit and loss and must have well-established business networks within their communities.
Vistage Chairs are well-compensated independent contractors, with flexible hours, who act as a facilitator in meetings and as a CEO coach, and executive advisor. Chairs are responsible for:
- Leading confidential, monthly group meetings, where members assist each other in solving business problems
- Acting as a CEO advisor, coach, mentor, and confidant for each member in monthly, two hour one-to-ones, for the purpose of discovering the most significant issues for their business
- Recruiting and selecting prospective members
- Identifying the most relevant topics for each group and working with headquarters to schedule expert speakers
- Maintaining or exceeding standards for group size, retention and attendance at the monthly meeting, which enhances member satisfaction
- Being an active participant in the local Vistage community
Successful Chairs possess the following qualities:
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Ability to hold CEOs accountable for follow through on action items that will move them and their companies forward
- Marketing and sales ability to recruit members and maintain group size
- Strong group facilitation and executive support skills
- Ability to listen, probe, clarify and generate insights into a myriad of important business issues; experience as a CEO adviser or coach is helpful
- Strong self-confidence and “presence” when dealing with C-level executives
- Impeccable integrity and a strong personal work ethic
