As Vistage staff, we give our all to support our Chairs in delivering exceptional value to our members. One of the best ways we can further our mission — and open new opportunities to reach more members and broaden our platform — is by nominating qualified Chairs.

Chances are, you know someone who has impressed you with their business accomplishments and their commitment to the community. Perhaps you described our mission and purpose, and they lit up.

If you know an executive in transition whose mentorship could improve the effectiveness and enhance the lives of CEOs and key executives, consider nominating them to become a Vistage Chair.

The ideal Chair candidate

We’ve found that candidates with the desire and drive to succeed as Chairs tend to meet the following criteria:

  • Former CEO, business owner or senior executive responsible for P&L of over $5 million
  • Strong business acumen, communication skills, high EQ
  • Executive presence: confidence, maturity, assertiveness
  • Able to commit 35+ hrs/week with financial runway
  • Strong connector and networker
  • Possess a passion for mentoring others
  • Entrepreneurial grit and spirit

How do I submit a Vistage Chair nomination?

Will Vistage be in contact after I submit the nomination?
Upon receipt of a completed nomination form, an Executive Recruiter from the Vistage Chair Selection team will contact you, the nominator, to learn more about the nominee. The Executive Recruiter will then contact the nominee to schedule time to discuss the Vistage Chair Practice opportunity. The Executive Recruiter will continue to keep you updated on the progress of the nominee throughout the Chair selection process. Take a glimpse into the Vistage Chair selection and support process.
What is the single most important criteria for a nominee?
Individuals interested in Chairing are typically in the process of transitioning out of a corporate leadership role or have already transitioned. This person isn’t looking for a leisurely retirement, but to build a meaningful practice and share their wisdom with the business community. You can also refer to the other listed ideal qualities for Chair candidates.
What are the requirements of my Chair nomination?
Chair nominations submitted by Vistage staff should follow the below requirements:

The nominator must have personal knowledge of the nominee’s professional background and have personally introduced the nominee to the Vistage Chair opportunity prior to submission of the nomination.

Nominations must be completed and submitted utilizing the form corresponding to the nominator’s Vistage role.

The Chair Selection team will determine throughout the Chair selection process whether the nominee meets the criteria to be considered for a Vistage Chair Practice.

Nominees for Chair Practices located in Vistage partners or licensee regions are welcomed but should be submitted using the form on vistage.com/global.
Can I nominate more than one Chair candidate?
Yes! There is no limit to the number of Chair candidates you can nominate.
