As Vistage staff, we give our all to support our Chairs in delivering exceptional value to our members. One of the best ways we can further our mission — and open new opportunities to reach more members and broaden our platform — is by nominating qualified Chairs.
Chances are, you know someone who has impressed you with their business accomplishments and their commitment to the community. Perhaps you described our mission and purpose, and they lit up.
If you know an executive in transition whose mentorship could improve the effectiveness and enhance the lives of CEOs and key executives, consider nominating them to become a Vistage Chair.
The ideal Chair candidate
We’ve found that candidates with the desire and drive to succeed as Chairs tend to meet the following criteria:
- Former CEO, business owner or senior executive responsible for P&L of over $5 million
- Strong business acumen, communication skills, high EQ
- Executive presence: confidence, maturity, assertiveness
- Able to commit 35+ hrs/week with financial runway
- Strong connector and networker
- Possess a passion for mentoring others
- Entrepreneurial grit and spirit

What is the single most important criteria for a nominee?
What are the requirements of my Chair nomination?
The nominator must have personal knowledge of the nominee’s professional background and have personally introduced the nominee to the Vistage Chair opportunity prior to submission of the nomination.
Nominations must be completed and submitted utilizing the form corresponding to the nominator’s Vistage role.
The Chair Selection team will determine throughout the Chair selection process whether the nominee meets the criteria to be considered for a Vistage Chair Practice.
Nominees for Chair Practices located in Vistage partners or licensee regions are welcomed but should be submitted using the form on vistage.com/global.
