Hal Cherney Launches New Vistage Group in the New York Market
San Diego, December 16, 2013— Vistage Chair Hal Cherney has recently launched a new chief executive group in New York, NY. The new Vistage group will meet monthly to discuss business issues, share expertise, and provide one another confidential help to achieve their goals. Cherney is part of a community of more than 400 Vistage Chairs who lead local area groups, which total more than 17,000 members in 15 countries.

Hal Cherney has been a Vistage Chair since 1997, facilitates six groups, and has been ranked number one of all US Chairs for a long time. He is designated as a Master Chair, Star Chair and Chair Excellence Award Winner, and is a former member of Vistage CEO’s Chair Advisory Board. Prior to his Chair Practice at Vistage, Cherney was President and Managing Director of an investment banking firm from 1993 to 1997, providing partners and arranging financing for small and medium sized private and public companies through bank loans, lines of credit, SBA loans, bridge loans, IPO offerings, warrants, equipment financing and sale lease backs. From 1966 to 1992, he built a business from start up to over 100 million in transportation, communication and financing fields with over 700 employees in six states. He served as Chairman and Member of the Advisory Board to large brand name national corporation from 1976 to 1992, and was Director of the National Industry Trade Association from 1989 to 1992. Cherney is the father of seven children and grandfather of nine; he re-married in 2009 after death of wife of 39 years in 2007. He Chaired Boy Scout organizations for 6 years. He also served in US Army for three years including overseas. Cherney was educated at RPI, Washington University, University of Maryland and LaSalle College; he was a President’s List Scholar, Captain of College Soccer Team, President of Accounting Association, Officer of National Fraternity, and Officer of Student Government.
