Survey: CEO confidence on the rise

The WSJ/Vistage CEO Confidence Index reveals that persistent, slow economic growth is expected over the next 12 months. While 22 percent of those surveyed expect the U.S.economy to improve in the next year, more than 50 percent expect it to stay its present course. Nearly 70 percent of CEOs expect to see increased sales and revenue in the next year, and more than half expect to hire more employees. The overall numbers for September’s survey indicate cautious optimism, but confidence levels remain below last year’s.
